Hike description: … A lovely day out! ‘A peach of a day’ and the weather gods and the mountains delivered!!
MCSA members included Greg and Cheryl Devine, Lisa Mulligan and Wikus de Beer, Werner Frei, Jacqui Kennedy, Debbie Bruinders, Derek Luyt and Jeremy Lister-James. Guests for the day who joined were Justine Laver and Joanne Scholtz. Extending a warm welcome to the club!

After parking and setting off exactly on time, the first uphill sections to the gate was completed in no time at all and we soon headed off down the track enjoying an exquisite array of Proteas and fynbos!

Having hiked this last about two years ago, I could not believe how big the fynbos has grown during that time. Positively towering above Greg and Cheryl below!

Jo took a quick turn and went to explore the swimming hole which was flowing strong after the recent rain.

A quick tea stop at the turnoff which is now well marked and easy to find, the perfect weather made the slightly long slog up the hill a pleasure. The views backwards ever rewarding the effort. At the highpoint a lovely spot for a leisurely lunch. Thank you Jeremy for the interesting info on the farming activities especially Pommegranites surrounding us.
Then down the hill back to our cars!!
According to Strava which recorded 4h25 moving time, covering just over 16kms with a sound 780m ascent!

Thank you all for a special day out!
