This hike started at “Sputnik” at the top of the Outeniqua Pass, a short drive from the City of George.
It follows a trail path heading due north straight up to the ridge line, before heading westwards off-path along the ridge (red track). After descending on the north side, it joins the established trail path at “Camferskloof Nek”. From this point, there is a short diversion to bag “Peak Ten67”, before returning along the path (marked yellow).

The party set off at 8.30am under high cloud, which was well above the crescent. Great 360-degree views welcomed us, while cool conditions made for ideal hiking.
Progressing along the ridge, the first destination was the stone beacon. Cradock Peak can be seen in the background. The ridge route is off-path but the sparse bush offered little resistance.
At the end of the ridge, there is steep gulley to be descended.
There are many interesting rock formations along the way.
Thereafter, there is a short detour to Ten67.
