The group consisted of 11 people – Janine Smith, Sandy Cundill, Stewart (leader) and Christine Stiles (all MCSA), Norman Neville, Lynne Puren, Terence Marshal, Annette van Wyk, Janet Taplin, Debbie McIntyre and Marge Webster.
The intention of the hike was to recce the MUT Lite route prior to the race on 27 May.
This was successfully completed in just over 3 hours and the muddy conditions noted.
The routing was from Witfontein along the lower contour jeep track and then up to the Cross via “Lockdown”. From the Cross the routing ran above the railway line and then descending to Power Stream to cross it and ascend Henry’s Hill and then back to Witfontein.
