Our Section will turn 20 next year! If you have any ideas how this milestone could be best celebrated do feel free to share them with the Committee. When the ten-year point was reached Dave Jones wrote up an interesting history of the Section, which we have placed on the website. On the topic of anniversaries: our Secretary’s meticulous record keeping includes the date when you first joined the Section. Some of us, however, were previously members of other sections of the Mountain Club of South Africa, in some cases for extended periods of time. Those details we don’t have, so if you are coming up for a major (50 year?) anniversary of MCSA membership, please do let us know so that we can mark it! (or if you’re not, but think you might forget when the time comes around, please do drop the Secretary an email telling her when and where you first joined the MCSA, and we’ll jog your memory in due course).
