Trust that this note finds you well, and making progress on your list of 20 peaks to commemorate the 20th anniversary of our Section (it sounds as though a couple of our members have already made the count!)

On the topic of 20th celebrations, Janet’s been away on a trail, so there’s still time to get your responses in for the Anniversary Dinner on Thursday 4 September, if you didn’t make her original deadline. Karin tells me she has received some great pictures from some of you for the slide show. The MCSA’s National President, Paul Carstensen, has confirmed that he’ll be joining us for the evening, along with another long-time JHB Section member. Activities that weekend will include an excursion to Formosa led by Clive, and a couple of days of hiking and festivities at Herold led by Bianke.

We had a great turnout at the last Social where Fran regaled us with stories of the Himalayas. I should also let you know that JHB Section’s monthly social was the night before ours: those of you who have spent time on the spectacular Blouberg may wish to rekindle the images in your mind by taking a look at the slide show that was given by Hector Pringle that night. It’s well worth watching, and is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhjYvUXZRw0&t=323s

‘til we see each other at the Anniversary Dinner!
