I do trust that you’re enjoying the paradise of delights that the glorious Garden Route offers those of us sufficiently privileged to live here.
You may know that certain of our Section’s members were rather active in the hills this past weekend. Some volunteered their services to the organisers of the Mountain Ultra-Trail, and I’m aware of some inspiring competitive results:
• MUT 100: Bruce Arnett, 14:12:28
• MUT 60: Bianke Fouche, 12:14:44
• MUT Marathon: Craig Bax, 8:57:05
• MUT Marathan: Stewart Stiles, 9:46:20
• MUT Challenge: Christine Stiles, 4:37:26
Superb efforts indeed (& if I’ve missed one of our members, please let me know).
Rather further afield, I received a message over the weekend that Jeanette McGill, a member of our closest Section, Eastern Province, summited Everest in rather nasty conditions.
