Dear all
It was great to see such a good turnout for the Section’s Christmas Party this week. Lots of good food enjoyed with entertaining conversation on a spectacularly beautiful evening at the Bowling Club. Some pictures of the festivities follow this page.
The efforts of the Souperbergers and the Committee were recognised, and six members claimed to have achieved the 20 Summits Challenge (evidence to follow, naturally). A most enjoyable celebration of a year of outdoor living on the Garden Route.
11 December is the United Nations’ International Mountain Day, observed to raise awareness about the role that mountainous regions play in the lives of people and their importance to the planet. The theme for 2025 is ‘Glaciers matter for water, food, and livelihoods in mountains and beyond.’

From your Committee and myself, wishing you all a special and safe Christmas season.
‘til another time
